When Stephen and I were preparing to move here from Halifax last year, we had no idea where we wanted to look for a home and we had one week to find something.

Because Steve would be working in Nanaimo, it seemed practical to look there, and you had appointments lined up for us from Departure Bay to Cedar. You showed us a great cross-section of homes, from brand new to older, and in all cases you were thorough, honest, patient and helpful.

When we decided we wanted to look for a more rural place, we began to consider Gabriola Island as an option. Because you live there, you knew first hand about using the ferry every day, you were careful to point out water concerns, explain septic and well issues and even discussed how to garden with deer! As soon as we drove off the ferry, we were hooked, and after seeing a couple of houses, we found our home.

Real estate law is different in B.C. from Nova Scotia, and you gave us a heads-up on absolutely everything we might need to know, pointed us toward a great lawyer, and followed through on every detail. Even our lawyer commented on how painstaking you are.

We are extremely happy in our home and living on Gabriola and even get to bump into you on the ferry on a regular basis!

We met Steve Orsatti when my husband wandered into the downtown Coast Realty Office in Nanaimo after perusing a planned building site for the condominium, Marine Vista. As this condominium still had to be built and was in fact still in the planning and inception stage, Steve kept us informed on all the future developments and guided us through putting an offer on a "still-to-be" built project. In the meantime he had realtors come and make an appraisal of our current property and help us arrive at a listing price. He worked hard at giving our real estate maximum exposure through an MLS listing and his personal website, newspaper advertising, and prominently placed directional signs. In collaboration with my husband a detailed color brochure including a scaled floor plan of the house was produced. He held open houses every Sunday afternoon and was quick to respond to any potential sales. His diligence and persistence paid off and we successfully sold our house with Steve acting as a tough negotiator on our behalf. We are presently living in a recently renovated duplex of my husband's while we wait for our condo to be completed. In the meantime Steve managed to get the subjects removed on the original contract and we are presently looking forward to moving into our new home.
Steve has a pleasant, outgoing personality and is ready to listen to both the buyer and seller's needs. He communicates well. He is an astute businessman and is not pushy. In retrospect, it is his genuine interest in your concerns and his "soft-sell" approach that attracted us to him.
